[HOLSTER REVIEW] Crossbreed Holsters Purse Defender

A lot of women ask us the same question: How can I comfortably carry my firearm?

The story behind this review

Since we aren’t female and don’t carry a purse around, we enlisted the help of a female friend who is an avid firearms enthusiast and carries often. She loved the idea of this purse holster and was eager to give it a try. We have translated her thoughts after using this holster for one month to provide the content for this review.

This may be the answer you’re looking for. Crossbreed Holsters has come up with a very simple and effective method of carrying a firearm close by.

CBH_pursedefender_5Concept

The Crossbreed Purse Defender is a simple angled piece of sturdy kydex with a Velcro pad to allow a Velcro attachment of a holster that fits your firearm. It doesn’t take up much space in the purse itself and allows the user to carry a relatively large firearm (depending on the purse size, of course).

Don’t be fooled though. This product is definitely geared toward the increasing number of females who are carrying concealed, but this holster setup can fit into any medium or large-sized bag/briefcase/etc. Have a gym bag? You now have a holster. Carry a briefcase? You now have a holster. Carry a laptop-style bag? You now have a holster.

For this example, we are using a Glock 27.

Installation

Simple was the goal here. The design is just that, yet very intuitive. All you need to do is attach the holster to the back in the fashion that works for you while reaching for your firearm. The angled kydex panel allows your firearm to ride against the inside wall of your purse. This allows the contents of your purse to sit as they would normally sit inside.

Our female tester of this holster was very surprised at the access still attainable to her purse contents while searching for an item. She was however, very careful when retrieving her wallet from her purse making sure not to expose her firearm to anyone who may be around. She states that with a little practice, this becomes easier to do.

I’ve come to expect nothing but the best from Crossbreed, and this product is no exception.

The holster is the same quality kydex that you would get with any other Crossbreed product, and the kydex mount is just as sturdy. The Velcro is pretty standard and holds a nice firm grip on the firearm while it’s riding around in the purse. The holster construction is also very sturdy.

What they say

From the Crossbreed product page, they detail what their product is all about:

CrossBreed® Holsters Purse Defender is the latest addition to our modular style holsters. The Purse Defender is designed to go inside your favorite purse or hand bag, so no more ugly concealed carry purses! The velcro lined Kydex panel fits securely in your purse or other bag, and keeps the gun and purse stabilized. This means that it will not spill over or cause your purse to tip like many of the concealed carry purses on the market today. Combined with our handcrafted modular holster, the Purse Defender ensures your firearm is safe, secure and always in the same spot in your purse or bag.

The Purse Defender system comes complete with the L-Shaped panel, a CrossBreed® Handcrafted Modular Holster. It is available in left or right hand and for a wide variety of small to medium sized handguns. The Purse Defender measures 9″ wide x 6″ tall with the base of the assembly being 3″ wide.

The Purse Defender and modular holster come complete with CrossBreeds “Two Week, Try it Free Guarantee” and our Life Time Warranty.

Conclusion

This holster allows for a great carry option for females on the go. The firearm is readily available by sitting in an easy to access position inside the purse. It’s adjustable and sturdy, comes with a Lifetime Warranty, and holds the Crossbreed name.
