VIDEO: RESTAURANT EMPLOYEES ASSAULTED DURING ARMED ROBBERY AT RESTAURANT WITH PROMINENT “NO GUNS” SIGN

A North Carolina restaurant was the victim of an armed robbery over the weekend, and some employees were assaulted.

From ABC11 News:

Authorities said just before 9 p.m. Sunday, three men wearing hoodies entered the restaurant through the back doors with pistols, and forced several staff members to lie on the floor.

The bandits assaulted two employees during the crime, but they were not seriously injured.

The business, The Pit Authentic Barbecue, has a relatively prominent sign at their front door that disallows concealed firearms. We can only proceed under the assumption that since the criminals entered through the back door, they were not aware of the sign at the front door that prohibited firearms.

The blog NC Gun Blog points out that the “No Guns” sign isn’t your ordinary sign:

Take a close look at the anti-gun sign. See how it’s not just some generic “No Guns” sign the owner, Greg Hatem picked up down at the local sign emporium. No, these are custom jobs. He went out of his way to make custom signs to make sure we gun owners felt unwelcome.

For those who can’t make it out behind the reflection, let me describe it. The three pictograms are labeled “NC State Capitol,” “NC Legislative Building,” and “The Pit.” Above the pictograms it says, “No Weapons” and below, “No Concealed Firearms.”

We made the joke above that referenced the bad guys not seeing the sign at the front door since they entered in the back, but we just need to ask the obvious question: Why do people assume that the bad guys would abide by the rules?

Luckily no one was seriously injured or killed. Perhaps the owner of the business will reconsider his stance on law-abiding citizens carrying into his establishments, but we won’t hold our breaths.
