Someone stand there, and in good conscious tell me that a good guy with a gun shouldn’t be able to stop a bad guy with a gun. I dare you.
10 journalists were slaughtered in Paris today after numerous armed terrorists entered their business and began to fire automatic firearms. The business, Charlie Hebdo, is a satire news publication that seems to have been specifically targeted for this disgusting attack.
Witnesses at the scene say that police came in contact with the terrorists, but had to retreat because they were unarmed.
“Three policemen had arrived on bikes but had to leave because the men were armed, obviously,” Benoit Bringer, who works on the same floor as Charlie Hebdo’s offices, told France Info radio, according to The Guardian. “Then the attackers took off in a car.”
Paris police have the option to carry firearms, but for some reason, many choose not to. These two responding officers were in the category of choosing not to.
To quote a wise friend of mine on his opinion of this event:
I would bet just about ANYTHING this s*** would not happen here….Why? Because not ONLY are our officers armed, but so are our citizens.
There is no reason that I can see, to have unarmed police officers responding to a call of gunshots fired.
The attackers are still on the loose, and we can only hope that they are found and brought to justice quickly.
