As the saying goes, You Don’t Mess With Texas. After knowing the history of Texans and their love of firearms and the 2nd Amendment, it blows my mind that people are still trying to break into homes. Have they not figured this out yet?

37-year-old Christopher Ray Foster was shot and killed while trying to break into a home earlier this morning. The homeowner called 911 saying that she had just shot a man who was trying to gain access into her home. When Texas Rangers arrived, they found Foster deceased.

The Sheriff had this to say about people taking the necessary precautions to protect themselves and their families:

“Presently, as the result of underfunding and inadequate staffing at the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office, homeowners need to take appropriate precautions to protect their families. I will continue to support the law abiding citizens of our community when they are forced to take actions to protect their lives, liberty and property,” said Sheriff Michael Lindsey Ray.

This Sheriff gets it.
