21-Year-Old Celebrates Birthday By Firing Gun While Drunk, Killing Himself

DALLAS, TEXAS — A 21-year-old Texan was celebrating his birthday when he grabbed a gun and started shooting, apparently after consuming alcohol.

Relatives at the festivities saw the danger and took the gun from the man, identified as Joseph Perez. However, Perez was determined and he later retrieved the firearm again.

This second time, he negligently shot himself dead. He was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

I sometimes receive criticism for my to-the-point choice of words when talking about a negligent shooting that has the end result of death, but I stand by it. Of course it’s a shame that this young man lost his life, but maybe a person somewhere will read this article and think twice about handling their firearm after they’ve been drinking.
