Three Blind Mice Now Two Blind Mice, See How They Run — Homeowner Defends His Property From Three Burglars

Published

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS — Three burglars were confronted by a business owner who discovered them loading one of his air compressors onto the back of their truck. When he confronted them, one of the burglars advanced towards him and the owner shot him in the chest and legs. The other two fled the scene immediately.

According to the San Antonio Police Department’s statement to KENS 5 San Antonio, the burglar is in serious condition after being transferred from a nearby medical center to the University hospital. He is likely to undergo surgery if he survives.

The business owner lives next door to his business and his wife alerted him to the possible presence of men stealing equipment on his property. He only opened fire when he felt a grave threat to himself after one of them advanced upon him.

Because Texas law is pretty clear on this matter, San Antonio police did not charge the man with any criminal wrongdoing but his case is still pending review by a Bexar County grand jury.

This is why we keep our guns nearby at night. The burglary allegedly took place around 10:30 p.m. This is about the time many folks are getting ready to go to bed. The burglars likely didn’t know the business owner lived next door to his business and figured it was a good time to hit a place.

We recommend installing a video surveillance system in your place of business and in your residence. It’s a way to quickly visually identify bad guys doing bad things and it also works great as evidence if you have to defend yourself, your family, or your property.

In lieu of that, carrying a gun and practicing with that gun is a surefire way to ensure that you and your property are protected no matter the time of day.

Carry responsibly and carry everywhere — even at home. Stay safe out there. Bad guys like to wander in packs.
