Wife Saves Husband From Certain Death With Her Firearm After He Is Brutally Attacked In Their Driveway

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA — A man is likely alive because of his quick-thinking wife, who was alert and ready to defend him when he was being attacked by two armed men after returning home from the store.

It’s a darn good thing, too, because his outlook didn’t look good.

At around 9 p.m., authorities were dispatched to the 3700 block of Graceland on the report of an attempted robbery.

Police say a man was coming back from running errands when two masked men shot and pistol whipped him. His wife reportedly fired a shot to scare the men off.

While we don’t know whether or not the husband was armed, we do know that awareness was definitely involved here. Being aware of our surroundings is one of the most important things that we can do, regardless of whether or not we’re armed. If you are able to see a threat coming, it gives you a little bit of an advantage and a few extra seconds to think about what you are going to do.

In this particular case, the husband was jumped by the two men when he was trying to enter the front door of his own home. They then forced him inside, shot him and pistol-whipped him.

The wife was pretending to go into the kitchen to get the robbers some money, but instead she came back with a gun in her hands.

Two small children were inside the home at the time of the incident.

The masked men fled and are still being sought by police.
