Late-Night Armed Robbery Spree Comes To An End When Suspects Meet Armed Citizen

VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA — Multiple 7 Eleven stores were hit by a trio of armed robbers earlier this week, a spree that started around 10 pm and ended shortly after 2 am.

The reason the trio’s spree came to an end; an armed citizen was at their last location of choice. If you keep pushing your luck, especially in a state like Virginia, you’re going to encounter an armed citizen at some point.

The robbery spree came to an end at about 2:10 a.m. when the suspects attempted to rob a 7-Eleven located at 130 South Newtown Road, according to Virginia Beach Police Public Affairs Officer Linda Kuehn.
Police arrived at the store to find two suspects suffering from gunshot wounds.

Michael Moore, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other wounded suspect was transported to the hospital where he was treated and then released into police custody, WTKR reported.

Witnesses told police that two armed men were robbing the store clerks when a customer with a gun confronted and ultimately shot them.

The customers who were in the store at the time called the armed citizen a hero for what he did.

No other injuries were reported.

Police linked the suspects to even more convenience store robberies, but it would seem that their luck ran out. At least for now.
