Concealed Carrier Fighting For His Life After Taking Out 1 Of 3 Armed Robbers

BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA — An armed citizen found himself up against three attackers around 9 pm Thursday night while minding his own business.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Tony Falgout, 18, was killed when he and two others tried to rob a 26-year-old man around 9 p.m. in the 2200 block of E. Smiley Ave. The victim of the armed robbery is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The two other teens with Falgout, 18-year-old Carlos Like and 17-year-old Kendrick Birks, now face murder charges for their fallen buddy, along with attempted murder charges for the armed citizen who is currently fighting for his life at the hospital.

At some point during the attempted armed robbery, the intended victim pulled out a gun and a shootout began. Police say the armed citizen was acting in self-defense.

One person on Facebook left a comment that really stood out to me. It’s blunt, accurate, and sad that things like this need to be said.

Well said.
