A township man who was shot in the abdomen during an apparent domestic-related incident Monday night died a short time later in surgery, one week before his 25th birthday, Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said Tuesday. While circumstances involving the death of Seifuddin Collier remained under investigation, Chitwood said they have identified the alleged gunman and he is claiming self-defense. The superintendent did not release the name of the alleged 21-year-old gunman because he has not been charged with a crime. “This is an ongoing investigation,” Chitwood said.

Man Fatally Shot in Self-Defense by Family Member After He Assaults Relatives

SAGINAW, TEXAS – A man died after stirring up trouble with his relatives in the early morning hours at a family gathering. Saginaw police provided details of the events leading up to the death in a press release.

SPD responded to the 300 block of Worthy Street around 2:40 am Sunday. Upon arrival, they were told that 31-year-old Terry McKenzie had assaulted some family members and then drew a gun and fired multiple shots at them.

Another family member returned fire and wounded McKenzie. After being hit, he entered a home where two children, ages 1 and 6, were asleep. Officers unsuccessfully attempted to contact him and assumed that he had barricaded himself inside the home.  SPD then requested assistance on the scene from the Fort Worth PD tactical team. They eventually made entry into the home and found McKenzie was deceased.

The two children were found unharmed, according to police. The investigation is on-going, and police did not offer any additional information.
