Two Teens Fatally Shot After Forcing Their Way Into Home

Published

FAYETTEVILLE, NORTH CAROLNA – Two teens were shot to death as they forcibly entered a home around 5 p.m. Saturday. Police received a call from a resident in the 6500 block of Brookstone Lane, who reported shooting two people who had forced their way inside. That is the location of the one- and two- bedroom Brookstone Apartments.

Hunter Markham, 19, and a 17-year-old whose name isn’t being released because of his age, were pronounced dead at the scene. Police say that a male occupant of the home was also shot and transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where they were treated and released. Police did not comment on how that person may have been shot.

The investigation of the home invasion and shooting is ongoing, and police are asking for the community’s help with any information.
