Published

The 13 Ukrainian soldiers who were defending Snake Island while being confronted by a Russian warship did not die in the attack as previously thought.

“We are very happy to learn that our brothers are alive and everything is well with them,” a statement from Ukrainian Navy said. The group survived the attack and fought back, but quickly ran out of ammunition and surrendered. They were then taken prisoner but are said to be doing well.

Below is the audio from the confrontation between the two sides, which the world thought was the end of these brave soldiers.
