Armed Hotel Guest Defends Against Armed Intruder In Room

Published

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — A hotel guest was luckily only treated for a graze wound to the head after exchanging gunfire with an armed intruder.

The guest was inside his room around 11:30 p.m. when someone knocked on his door. The guest reportedly opened the door to find an armed man who then forced his way in and demanded valuables.

The armed man then reportedly started shooting, at which time the guest fired back.

The armed guest was treated for a graze wound to his head by paramedics.

The suspect is still being sought.

Every hotel room I’ve ever stayed in has a peep hole to see who is on the other side of the door, and it’s very rare that I’ll open the door for someone who knocks. Knowing who is out there and what they’re doing is key to keeping yourself safe.
