13-Year-Old Shot By Concealed Carrier While Breaking Into Vehicle

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — A 13-year-old boy was shot while breaking into a vehicle on September 11th in Chicago’s Oakland neighborhood, according to police.

The teen was seen breaking into a Kia just after 2:30 p.m. The teen was confronted by the owner with a valid Concealed Carry Licence, who fired shots at the teen, hitting him in the leg.

The teen was transported to Comer Children’s hospital. The vehicle’s owner was taken in by police for questioning.

Officials said a weapon was recovered from the 13-year-old and the vehicle’s owner.

The scene of the crime is still under investigation.
