Armed Teen Thwarts Home Invasion With Shotgun, Killing 2 Of 3 Armed Intruders

HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS — An attempted home invasion by three armed suspects was foiled by a 17-year-old armed with a shotgun, resulting in the deaths of two of the suspects.

The incident occurred Friday night in the 16000 block of 1st Street in the Channelview area near the East Freeway. The incident occurred around 10:40 pm per Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. Gonzalez stated that three armed, masked suspects attempted to forcibly enter a residence. At home were the victim and another teen male, a 12-year-old boy and a woman.

The 17-year-old teen obtained a shotgun and fired several rounds at the suspects, killing two of them. The third suspect fled the scene in a dark colored four door vehicle. None of the resident’s occupants were injured in the encounter.

An investigation is still pending and persons with information are asked to call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The case will be referred to a grand jury.
