LA PORTE, INDIANA — The La Porte sheriff’s department has named Jacob Borders as the man shot and killed in a self-defense shooting during an attempted burglary.
Police responded to a call of an intruder and arrived at a home on the 20-thousand block of State Road 4. Inside the home were one man, one woman and one juvenile. Borders was killed in self-defense and no one in the home was injured.
The police have stated that it does not appear that Borders and the family knew each other before the incident occurred. The investigation is still on going and once it has been completed it will be turned over to the La Porte prosecutors office for review.
