HUNTSVILLE, AL — A woman currently being held on a murder charge in Hunstville was acting in self-defense, according to her attorney.

32-year-old Kashonna Jenae Strong was charged with the December 29th murder of Antonio Robinson after she allegedly shot and killed him, according to Yahoo! News. The incident reportedly stemmed from a domestic disturbance between the two.

Attorney Carl Cole stated that Strong was assaulted by Robinson. Cole states that Robinson strangled Strong and attempted to produce a gun, causing Strong to believe her life was in danger. Cole also stated that Strong has a positive record of community involvement, coaching basketball to troubled youths.

Strong was arrested by police after the shooting and was last reported still in custody in the Madison County Jail. The incident remains under investigation. Cole is representing Strong in the case.
