Alabama Possible Self-Defense Shooting Leaves 1 Dead

TUSCALOOSA, ALABAMA — A potential self-defense shooting in Tuscaloosa that led to the death of a 43-year-old man, Tibaous Giles, is being investigated by the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit.

The incident took place on the night of March 13 in the 300 block of 24th Street, according to The Tuscaloosa News.

According to Capt. Jack Kennedy, officers from the Tuscaloosa Police Department responded to the scene and took an unidentified suspect into custody.

The suspect, who has not been named, is believed to have possibly shot Giles in self-defense.

No arrests have been made as the investigation is ongoing.
