Suspected Home Invader Shot By Resident In Chicago

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — A burglary attempt in Chicago’s Northwest Side turned violent when the suspect, Jeremy Tyler, was shot by the homeowner early Sunday morning, according to a report.

Tyler was hospitalized in critical condition after being shot in the arm and has been charged with burglary, according to CBS.

The incident has caused concern in the Dunning neighborhood.

The homeowner woke up to his dog barking and heard a loud noise in the basement.

He armed himself and soon encountered Tyler.

When Tyler started approaching him, the homeowner opened fire, hitting him once.

Police arrived shortly after. Neighbors have commended the homeowner for protecting his family.
