Triple Homicide Outside Houston Nightclub Sparks Outrage

HOUSTON, TEXAS — A triple homicide investigation is underway in southwest Houston after three men were shot and killed in a parking lot early Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at a shopping center in the 10800 block of Beechnut Street near Wilcrest, shortly before 6 a.m. According to investigators, the victims were leaving a nightclub when they became involved in a possible altercation with two individuals, which led to gunfire, according to KRPC 2.

All three men were pronounced dead at the scene. Upon arrival, investigators found no witnesses, vehicles, or suspects connected to the shooting, but multiple shell casings were discovered.

One of the victims, 29-year-old Gerardo Filomeno, was identified by his wife, Ashley Montalbo.

Filomeno, a father of two, is remembered by Montalbo as “the sweetest” and “the nicest.” She is now urging the suspect or suspects to come forward, pleading for anyone with information to help bring closure to the families affected.

Houston Police Department’s (HPD) homicide unit officers are searching for surveillance footage from nearby businesses to determine what led to the deadly incident.

HPD Assistant Chief Chandra Hatcher noted that the intersection of Beechnut and Wilcrest has a history of shootings, including a case in January where a man and a woman were shot at a taco truck.

As the investigation continues, the families of the victims are left seeking answers and justice for their loved ones.
