Armed Stranger Intervenes To Stop Armed Robber At ATM, Is Discovered To Be Wanted For Murder

HOUSTON, TEXAS — In southwest Houston, a Good Samaritan intervened to aid a man being assaulted during a robbery attempt on Saturday night.

The incident occurred at a Chase Bank ATM on Westheimer Road, where an armed suspect demanded money from a man using the machine, according to KTRK.

As the victim started to comply, the assailant began pistol-whipping him.

A witness driving by noticed the unfolding crime and quickly took action, drawing their own firearm to protect the victim. Multiple shots were fired, resulting in the suspect being hit in the leg and foot. The injured suspect, later found to be wanted for murder in Louisiana, was transported to a hospital in stable condition.

Houston police conducted interviews with the victim and bystanders, who fortunately remained unharmed during the encounter.
