Why We Carry: Man Fights Off 1, Then 4 Carjackers During Mid-Day Heist Attempt

Published

ROCKY HILL, CONNECTICUT — A man ran outside to his vehicle after seeing someone break into it and attempt to drive away, and pulled the suspect out which turned into a grappling match.

Unbeknownst to the man, 3 other suspects appeared from a nearby vehicle and joined in on the fight. It was now 4 on 1, and odds were not on the man’s side.

At some point, another person inside the home yelled out that they’re calling the police, which sent the 4 thugs running.

Police are still searching for them, and have released the video to the public in hopes of tracking them down.

When it comes to defending property, it’s generally a good idea to get on the phone with police and not confront the suspect(s). For all this guy knew, the man he dragged out of the car could have been armed with a knife or a gun. That could have easily changed the story for the worst, and we could easily be reporting on a man who was killed while trying to stop a criminal from stealing his vehicle.
