Negligent Shooting Leaves Woman Dead In SC

LAURENS COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA — An incident occurred on Saturday night where a woman tragically lost her life due to what is believed to be an unintentional shooting. The local Sheriff’s Office reported that their deputies responded to a call regarding a shooting on Highway 14 at approximately 8:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found the woman deceased, having suffered a gunshot wound.

Investigations revealed that the shooting was accidental (also known as negligent), and the individual responsible was subsequently detained. The coroner’s office has yet to disclose the identity of the deceased woman.

Negligent discharges can be avoided if the simple 4 rules of firearm safety are followed. Following those rules will make everyone safer, smarter and better gun owners, and will avoid unnecessary tragedies such as this one.
