NWA Star Survives Armed Carjacking Attempt With His Concealed Handgun

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA — Darnell Kittrell, known as Blk Jeez in the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), experienced a harrowing ordeal in Philadelphia on the evening of January 11th. While in his car, Kittrell, a cancer survivor, was approached by four masked individuals in an attempted carjacking. During the incident, he was shot in the hip by one of the attackers, sustaining a non-life-threatening injury.

Kittrell, legally armed with a firearm for which he has a permit, defended himself by returning fire, causing the assailants to flee. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities examining surveillance footage to identify the suspects. Following the attack, Kittrell received medical attention at a local hospital and is currently recuperating.

This incident comes as a blow to Kittrell, who was preparing for his comeback to wrestling on January 13 at NWA Paranoia in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His journey has been marked by resilience, particularly after being diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, in the spring of 2023.

In the wake of the carjacking, Kittrell expressed thanks for the support he received and shared his disappointment at having to postpone his return to the ring. He chose to prioritize recovery and family time over participating in the upcoming event, though he eagerly anticipates his next appearance with NWA.
