Philly Concealed Carrier Shot In Hip During Shootout With Group Of Armed Assailants

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA — In Philadelphia’s Oxford Circle neighborhood, a 48-year-old man was involved in a shootout with a handful of attempted robbery suspects. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Shisler Street. As the man exited his vehicle, he was confronted by four masked individuals. One of the assailants, armed with a gun, aimed at the man.

The intended victim, who legally carried a firearm, responded by firing four shots towards the assailant. In the exchange, the suspect shot the man in the hip. He was subsequently hospitalized in stable condition. The assailants fled the scene, and it remains unclear if any were injured.

Police, who have surveillance footage of the event, are seeking information and have urged anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact them at 215-686-TIPS.
