Woman Shoots And Kills Estranged Husband After He Broke Into Home With Gun; Police

HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS — In the Atascocita Forest neighborhood of Harris County, a woman fatally shot her former common-law husband after he allegedly broke into her home while armed with a gun, around 1 a.m. on Tuesday.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez of Harris County reported that the incident occurred on Woodlace Drive, following several previous police reports concerning the couple. The man is believed to have forcibly entered the residence through the back door, carrying a handgun.

The woman, who was briefly detained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities, is not expected to face charges, as the case will be referred to a grand jury.
